Gabrielle grew up in a small village.She knew that she was different from any other villager and she felt that she didn't belong there.
When a warlord attacked her village Xena saved her and some other girls from him. Gabrielle was facinated by the life of the warrior and decided to follow her through her journeys leaving behind her family.
At first her knowledge and her silver tongue were her main weapons but soon she leaned also how to fight with her stuff and helped Xena in battle. When she risked her life to save an Amazon she became an Amazon princess.She stayed with the Amazons for a while.During her stay she acquired more fighting skills although storytelling is what she does best.She has even won a scholarship to the Athens Academy of The Performing Bards.
Although Xena and Gabrielle suffered alot their relationship became stronger and stronger. Even when Gabrielle knew that she would be in great danger if she stayed with Xena she never abandoned her.
